The Halls
A venue with history
This year's Suffolk + Norfolk LVEP Tourism Business Conference takes place at The Halls in the heart of Norwich.
A Grade I listed medieval friary, The Halls is one of Norwich's most distinctive historic buildings. The complex is home to St Andrew's Hall and Blackfriars Hall and is recognised as the most complete medieval friary complex surviving in England.
Following a major programme of restoration and investment, The Halls reopened in 2026 with its historic character carefully preserved alongside improved facilities, technology and accessibility.
For our conference, we'll be bringing together the historic setting of St Andrew's Hall with a programme focused on the future of tourism across Suffolk and Norfolk.
A venue with history
The Halls dates back to Norwich's medieval past and has played an important role in the city's civic and cultural life for centuries.
St Andrew's Hall, the largest and most iconic space within The Halls, formed part of a Dominican friary and retains many of its original medieval features. Today, it provides a striking setting for conferences, exhibitions, performances and events.
The recent restoration has brought new life to the building, combining its historic architecture with modern facilities including upgraded technology, high-speed connectivity and improved access.
Getting to The Halls
The Halls is centrally located at St Andrew's Plain, Norwich, NR3 1AU, making it easy to reach by public transport, on foot or by bike.
By train
Norwich Railway Station is approximately 950 metres from The Halls. Regular bus services connect the station with Castle Meadow, and there is also a taxi rank outside the station.
By bus
The Halls is around 320 metres from Castle Meadow, one of Norwich's main city-centre bus interchanges, with multiple local routes and Park & Ride services. Norwich Bus Station is approximately 950 metres away.
By bike
Cycle racks are available outside The Halls, with additional secure bike parking at St Andrew's Car Park, around 160 metres away.
By car
There is no visitor parking at The Halls itself. Nearby options include:
- Monastery Court Car Park, Elm Hill, NR3 1HN, approximately 150 metres away
- St Andrew's Multi-Storey Car Park, NR3 3AT, approximately 160 metres away
- Limited on-street parking on Princes Street
Blue Badge parking is also available nearby.
Accessibility
The Halls has made significant improvements to accessibility as part of its recent refurbishment.
Step-free access is available directly into St Andrew's Hall, with level-access toilets and improved routes around the building. Lifts and platform lifts provide access to other areas, while venue staff are available to help with directions, alternative routes and access arrangements.
The Halls is a historic building and its medieval layout means there are some natural limitations, so we recommend checking the venue's accessibility information before attending.
